DATA AND ACCOUNT SECURITY

How We Protect Your Data and Account

From the moment you open an account, sportsuncle applies security and data-handling practices that are specific, auditable and designed around Indian regulatory expectations.

Data We Hold

We store your name, contact details, payment identifiers linked to UPI, Paytm or PhonePe, and transaction records. We do not store full card numbers or UPI PINs — those remain with your payment provider at all times.

Cookie Handling

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and analytical cookies to measure which pages you visit. You can manage cookie preferences from your browser settings; disabling analytical cookies does not affect account functionality.

Account Security

Two-factor authentication is available and strongly encouraged. Login attempts from new devices trigger an email alert. Three failed login attempts lock the account temporarily and prompt a password reset to prevent unauthorised access.

Data Retention Period

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for five years after closure, as required by Indian financial-record regulations. After that period, data is deleted from our primary systems on a rolling schedule.

Who to Contact for Data Requests

To request a copy of your data, ask for corrections, or request erasure where legally permitted, email our privacy team with your account email and the specific action requested. We respond within 30 days as required.

Requesting Account Changes

Name corrections, email updates and linked payment-method changes all require identity verification. Submit a request via the account dashboard or email support with a copy of a valid ID — changes are processed within three business days.

Your Legal and Policy Questions

The questions below address the most common legal matters we hear from people using sportsuncle in India — from data rights to account terms and how disputes are handled. If your question is not here, the legal contact paths above are the right next step.

Your account is governed by the laws of India applicable in your state of residence. Access to our platform is available only where local law permits, and any legal dispute will be handled under the jurisdiction where you reside.

Yes. Email our privacy team with your registered account email and a clear request for a data copy. We will compile and send a structured report of all personal data we hold within 30 days of receiving your verified request.

Submit a deletion request to our privacy email with your account ID. We will erase data that is not required by law to be retained. Financial transaction records must be kept for five years under Indian regulations and are exempt from deletion.

On account closure, we retain your personal and transaction data for five years to meet Indian financial-record requirements. After that period expires, your data is removed from our primary systems on a scheduled deletion cycle.

Submit your complaint via the account-dashboard form to receive a written reference number. A senior policy officer reviews the case within five working days and responds in writing. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to the relevant consumer authority in your state.

Our terms cover the instruction to make or receive a payment through UPI, Paytm or PhonePe. The processing and settlement of funds are governed by each provider's own terms, which apply alongside ours during any transaction.

We notify you by email to your registered address before any change to these terms takes effect. The updated version is dated and published on this page. Continued use of your account after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
